Software Development Lead - Hybrid working - c £100,000
Nationwide Recruitment Service is seeking a talented and motivational Software Development Lead to drive our client’s transition to agile ways of working, to help establish and embed the methodology, principles, and best practice to build a more cohesive Business and Technology change and delivery capability.

As Software Development Lead, you will contribute to the overall success of the organisation by being accountable for how we deliver industry leading software solutions, through the leadership and development of the company’s core development team, which includes developers and testers (QA) employees. You will have had been pivotal in implementing change in your previous role.
You will be responsible for defining the tools, processes, and approach to software development within NRS’S CLIENT, including Proof of Concepts and regular reviews to ensure that best practise is embedded within the organisation.
Establish and maintain the NRS’S CLIENT Software Development community of Developers, Testers (QA) and other subject matter experts.
Establish the vision for NRS’S CLIENT’ Software Development approach, to include Processes, Tools, and Organisation Structure, and accompanying metrics, Responsible for the evaluation of new software development and testing technology & processes, running PoCs, and for making recommendations regarding future tools & processes
In your previous role as a practise lead or a software development lead you should have proven track record in:
Building a strong Software Development team, operating within their scrum teams, ensuring a common focus and ways of working and foster a collaborative environment
Leading mentoring and inspiring a Software Development team
Driven a performance culture based on continuous improvement and demonstrable, measurable improvements to productivity and speed of delivery
Required Skills / Experience
Hands-on Software Development experience and the passion to identify new technologies and processes; to coach and lead teams and deliver improvements in the way that Software is developed and released.
Extensive experience working within a software development environment and detailed knowledge of the software development life cycle, including the specific practices and tools which support an agile approach.
Demonstrable experience in driving and improving the performance of high performing teams.
Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate an ability to deliver in a matrix organisation.
Exceptional organisational and time management skills
Experience working in a regulated Financial Services Environment
