Due to continued growth an opportunity has been created to join a successful team in shaping and developing their Innovation function, supporting our transition to a client-centric, product-based organisation. This is a key role that will include multiple responsibilities.

The strategic direction of NRS’s client is that the Our client’s application is the centre of an application ecosystem connected via a suite of APIs.

As a key part of the NRS’s client’s innovation team the Senior Technical Lead will help to deliver exceptional user experiences for existing and future NRS’s client’s customers via the development of contemporary application solutions with relevant and competitive API integrations.  This requires a highly technical individual, with leadership skills, and a desire to continually innovate and experiment with technologies.

Responsibilities Include:

Leadership

Process, Standards and Improvements

Define architect and security standards associated with new technology

Ensure that Architects and JAVA developers understand our client’s development and security standards

Actively contribute to all architecture and development process improvements

To maintain a secure and effective architecture and development environment

To ensure consistent & efficient delivery of our client’s products, working with others to translate the roadmap features into manageable components/tasks

Work with RESTful API’s and integrations with 3rd Party Systems

Work with front end developers to create web applications

Work with P2.0 developers to build Our client’s integrations

Collaborate with Product Owners to refine requirements

Discuss technical specifications with teams

Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Provide advice and guidance to developers

Work closely with NRS’s client’s architects to ensure consistency of technology solutions

Essential Criteria for the Java Technical Lead candidate 

A demonstrable background and inquisitive interest in all aspects of technology

Strong leadership, able to motivate and deliver through others

Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a small team delivering commercial applications

Demonstrable experience of leading technical teams

Significant experience in JAVA development

Broad AWS experience

Production deployment of containerized applications

Experience working in an agile environment

Demonstrable strong Java knowledge, including but not limited to Spring, Hibernate, Maven

Demonstrable AWS knowledge, including but not limited to, CloudFormation, EKS, RDS

Experience with Git or another industry-standard SCM

Competency in SQL
