Our client is a leading business based in Wales. They are seeking a Logistics Director/ Supply Chain Director paying up to £78k + (based on £55k- 60k + potential 30% Bonus) for their site based in Wales.

Nationwide Recruitment Service is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Road Freight Logistics Director to be responsible for the management of the waste disposal and road freight management of the business.

In your previous role you will have been responsible for managing road freight Logistics, Organising and monitoring storage and distribution of goods. The goal is to manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

As Logistics directors you will be responsible for overseeing and approving logistics activities for the company. You will be responsible for managing logistics tasks and leading a group of individuals to reduce costs and increase company profitability.

You will analyse previous logistics data to make changes to current logistics processes, as well as provide input into the development, implementation, and/or execution of processes to control labor scheduling. You will monitor and keep track/ records of all transportation methods and write detailed reports based on the logistics results as well.

As Logistics director, you will audit operations to ensure service standards are being met, actively participate in the training efforts, and coach junior logistics staff. You will follow strict safety and privacy regulation based on project requirements.

You will use your previous experience in people and logistics be take part in the recruitment/ hiring process of the supply chain and logistics team, to develop strategies to increase client satisfaction, negotiate contracts skilfully, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.

You will use your previous background in analytical skills to reduce company downtime due to logistics issues, and escalate problems as required.

Ideally you will have a Bachelors degree in logistics, business administration, or, supply chain or similar related field. In addition, previous experience in a logistics or directing capacity is preferred.

You will be well organised, and work proficiently in a busy and growing environment, with first class communication, presentation and therefore IT skills.

In your previous role you will be able to demonstrate where you were

ROAD FREIGHT LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT (this is a prerequisite of the job - please only apply if you have this clearly on your CV)

Pan European experience

Responsible for meeting financial and time benchmarks for delivering and receiving supplies and products.

Maintain relationships with carriers and track and analyse transit times, rates and procedures.

Establish and maintain distribution facilities and reports on key metrics from those facilities.

Document local and international regulations, policies, insurance coverage and tariff rates.

Design, develop, and manage software and physical systems to meeting shipping and tactical goals.

UK, pan-European and Trans national customer base experience

Experience of managing a network of third party hauliers, from negotiating contracts, managing suppliers against a KPI/SLA framework

Technical knowledge of the logistics industry within the UK and Europe, in particular road freight haulage

Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain or possibly Business Administration,
