 Job Purpose:

Our technical department provides in-house and on-site technical support across the business to support the correct specification, monitoring, and delivery of guarantees.

The design team is responsible for delivering technical specification delivery; as Design Consultant the Design Service produces accurate and detailed section drawings using AutoCAD and Sketchup Pro.

As a Design Consultant, you will be heavily involved in creating standard drawings and bespoke detail sections, for construction applications, these drawings will support the production of technical specifications.

You will also be involved in producing drawings on live projects and making sure drawings are delivered in a professional and timely manner.

Responsibilities also include delivering high-level design support and guidance to external stakeholders and working closely with colleagues from both the sales team and the technical team.

Creating high-quality detailed technical drawings in 2D and 3D based on designs supplied by colleagues, clients, and customers, and make modifications to existing drawings where required.

To produce accurate detailed CAD drawings of sections for use in technical specifications, following the drawing standards set by Design Services.

Able to interpret architect drawings and extrapolate detailed roof section drawings from them.

Able to complete a design project proposal with minimum supervision and take responsibility for it.

To assist in producing new standard drawing packages or make modifications to an existing standard package using AutoCAD and Sketchup Pro.

To make sure standard drawings are up-to-date and uploaded correctly onto SharePoint and the CRM. 

To make sure that the Design Services email inbox is monitored regularly, and that all drawing requests are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications:

A Construction or Roofing related qualification (essential)

Degree, relevant professional qualification, or equivalent (desirable).

A CAD-related qualification (essential).

Experience working in the roofing industry with knowledge of primary waterproofing systems, servicing new build (desired) and refurbishment contracts (essential).

Experience working within design meetings with key stakeholders, evaluating and fulfilling their needs while achieving the company’s goals.

Full working knowledge of using AutoCAD.

Working knowledge of Sketchup Pro or similar 3D software.

Relevant experience in a technical-related environment or similar where service delivery is paramount.

Experience of working to deadlines in a fast-paced technical office environment.

Experience of working as a team member and as an individual using your initiative.
